Layer: Primary Aquifer (ID: 70)

Parent Layer: Aquifers, Yield, and Hydraulic Conductivity

Name: Primary Aquifer

Display Field: PrimaryAquifer

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>In these polygons, the primary aquifer generally defines the more utilized, higher yielding aquifer of an area, while the secondary aquifer defines the lower yielding or alternative aquifer if present. If a secondary aquifer is assigned, relative positions of these aquifers are given as well as at least one reason for being assigned as secondary. Estimated yield ranges of both the primary and secondary aquifers are given, which describe the relative ability of the aquifers to provide and sustain a quantified volume of groundwater via pumping or natural flow. Estimated hydraulic conductivity ranges for only the primary aquifer of an area are given, which describe the ease with which groundwater can move through the pore or fracture spaces in an aquifer.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
