<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>10-ft contours by county were derived from the OSIP 2006 Lidar Based Digital Elevation Map (DEM) from OGRIP. Contours were originally generated at a 2-ft contour interval by USGS 7.5-Minute quad boundaries. 10-ft contours were selected from the 2-ft contours using function MOD(Contour,10) = 0. Contours were then clipped at county boundaries, and appended to a new feature dataset. Contours were unsplit at USGS quad boundaries in order to assure that lines would be continuous. The data was further refined by selecting only the lines that had a length greater than or equal to 1,000 feet. Finally two phases of simplification using a 0.1 foot and then a 1 foot simplify tolerance were applied to the contours to reduce the number of bends and allow faster draw for GIS applications. No additional contour clean up was performed. The data is not intended to replace survey data. The data should only be used as a general representation of changes in elevation.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
